I cannot believe that with the amazing and fulfilling news that Some Old Bloke passed the 100% launch point, I haven’t updated the Unbound page.
I apologise, I suppose I have been quite busy doing other things, but I have also been writing like a demon. Or maybe I’ve been writing like a writer
I've just passed the 70,000 word mark in this hopefully amusing, sometimes deeply embarrassing comic memoir. Or is it an autobiography? I don’t know, it isn’t a beat by beat recollection of my life, it jumps around a bit, following various themes that seem to have run through my 61 years.
From previous writing experience, passing 70,000 words feels like a milestone, it means you're over the ridge of impossibility, there's still loads more to write and then, when I think it's finished, it isn't.
I will then hack through the manuscript and remove the rubbish, of which there is ample.
Once that’s done I read out the manuscript and record it, listen back, swear quite a bit and re-write.
Books take quite a bit of time, that’s the basis of this update. I’m working on it, I’ve managed to shift a lot of the heavy lifting work I’ve been doing on the Fully Charged Show and can now concentrate on writing.
So, thank you so much for supporting this endeavour, I’m quietly confident that you’ll enjoy the book. Some of it gets quite serious, some of it is daft, a lot of it is embarrassing.
