It’s been a busy time on the book. I’ve been beavering away, working through 70,000+ words covered in forensic challenges from the copyeditor. These incredibly detailed feedback notes have had me chasing around pilots of Viggens, Blackbirds and Rafales in search of clarification, hunting down French historians for records on the psychological make-up of World War I aces and many more bizarrely specific errands. Arguments about imperial unit conversion may have also occurred as have discussions about the knowledge level of you dear supporter (I think you’re very knowledgeable). It is all the stronger for these annoying pedantic queries and I’m learning a great deal. Today my updated manuscript is ready to send back to Unbound.
A few weeks ago I had a look at how the design is progressing. The design is very fresh and it won’t look like your normal aircraft book. I’ll share some sneak previews of this soon. I'll also share some of the exclusive artworks.
I soon have the enviable task of commissioning the aircraft artworks for volume 2 (you can pre-order this from the Unbound site if you like). And look forward to asking some very talented illustrators to portray some of my favourite over-looked warplanes.
