This Week's Tune (10/15)

Good day, all!

After some Outside World distractions and a few minor segues into other work, I'm happy to report that the editing and world-building work for this month is at last gaining steam, easing me back into the writing zone just in time for NaNoWriMo. To celebrate this building success, and in homage to the era my current work is set in (as well as a shout-out to any Ferris Bueller fans :P), I present as this week's song Twist and Shout as covered by the Beatles, for their (remastered) album Please Please Me (Usual copyrights apply; I own nothing!)

Though I've known/listened to the Beatles from a very young age (courtesy of my folks), I'm a tad embarrassed to admit I didn't realize this particular song was a cover version (not that it really matters, when the quality's so good!) until a while after first hearing it. Nevertheless, it quickly became a favorite to play whenever I was in any kind of celebratory mood, and has remained such as part of my playlist of the group's music. When it comes to writing, this one is always cued up for when I need a jolt back into concentration, or when I'm doing the victory dance after passing the FINAL finish line on a particular draft.

There won't be anything like a finish line until NaNoWriMo gets started next month, but that doesn't mean there's nothing to dance about already. At this point, I'm halfway done with the first read-through and edits of my What-If draft Dixie Curtain; anticipating a finish by Wed or Thurs of this week, at which point I'll be resuming work on the outline for this project, and starting similar worldbuilding for my NNWM scifi/thriller draft All Eyes. The latter should be done or far along by the end of next week, at the earliest, though I'll have more in the way of (non-spoiler) details by next post; meantime, keep watching for additional updates, and keep on sharing, commenting and reviewing!
