Wednesday 11th March is the deadline for Rory Hobble and the Voyage to Haligogen to reach 100% funding and I need another £3,000.
I was emailed this information by the publisher a few short hours after my last update to you all went live and it was completely unexpected. However, we are now coming up on a year since the project launched and I understand Unbound's reasoning.
This means that we are in the final month though and I promise to throw everything I have at getting the book successfully over the line, because the thought of letting all of you down - as well as not being able to represent children with mental ill health and/or social care involvement in their lives - is very upsetting indeed. If it doesn't happen though, you will all be able to get a full refund on your pledge and I will explain how that happens if and when the time comes, so don't worry about that as you will not lose a single penny.
However, we all want this to be a success and I humbly ask you all to help me in spreading the message about the deadline. Also, if you yourselves fancy 'upgrading' your pledge - for example, from the 'Digital' to the 'Paperback' level - then please do give it a thought, as every contribution helps now. Other than that, share on social media; tell family, friends and colleagues; launch carrier pigeons to overseas realms; in short, please do everything in your power to help. Remember, your names are all going to be in this book and it is yours as well as mine.
Other than that, thank you again for your continuing support and a special thank you to my fellow Unbound authors who have rallied around me quite spectacularly in the last 24 hours.
I will keep you updated on progress my end.
