Dear supporters of The Coincidence of Novembers
I wanted to share the image we have chosen for the front cover of the book. It shows my father at his desk in 1973, just appointed to the Cabinet Office as second permanent secretary at the Cabinet Office and head of the civil contingencies unit. He looks characteristically energetic and keen (while posing for a Civil Service photographer) but with no idea about the many challenges ahead including the organisation of the first Referendum on membership of the European Community.
All is going well in completing the final text and caption corrections, and Unbound are working hard on the final stages of design.
Which means that it is about to be the last moment for anyone to have their name printed in the book as a supporter.
