I have started making pledge rewards to send out to all of you lovely people who backed Salt Lick. Yesterday was a day of lino cutting and printing and I'm very happy with the results - 2 out of 5 cards ready to go. 
The theme was cows, as stated on the Unbound page, so the design on the right is a folk-loric, wildermann milkmaid. I'm paricularly fond of her and may make some individual prints of her too. I'm thinking tote bags, bunting, anything that can be printed onto!
I wrote a blog post about how I navigated into the future in Salt Lick, and why I don't think of it as dystopian. More importantly perhaps, why I think of the future as always hopeful. Essentially, for me dystopia is too simplistic a concept to embrace our complicated stories. You can read the post here if you are interested. Also, as I have lots of giveaways planned (including a portrait by the very talented Pierre Halé, also known as 'the author's husband') you may want to sign up for my occasional newsletter while you are on the site. If you do sign up, you will go into another draw, to win an origninal piece of cow art. My head's spinning. Just say yes to all of it, you're bound to win something...
