Maya Angelou's Secret for Radical Living (and a favour too!)

Hello Everyone

I thought I'd give you a quick update on how the book is progressing. All sorts of good things have been going on:

  • The first print run of the trade edition (somewhat inferior to your lovely Unbound edition - it's the one you'll find in bookshops) sold out so quickly that they had to reprint within a few days of publication. The third printing is due later this week.
  • Partly due to the current political situation, I've been emphasising the politics of carpe diem in articles and talks. Check out this article at OpenDemocracy, and look out soon for the video based on the talk I did at the RSA called How To Seize the Political Day.
  • Thanks so much to everyone who has posted a review at Amazon. There are now around 13. Can you help bring it up to 20 over the next couple of days? That would be amazing. You can post your review here.

And now for my BIG ASK!

As you know, along with the book I launched a unique website containing 'click essay' extracts from the book. The click essay is a new digital storytelling medium that has been exclusively designed for the book by digital design pioneer Ted Hunt. While we're getting lots of visits to the site, we need to encourage more people to click the little 'share' icons inside each essay, allowing you to share a page or quote on Facebook or Twitter.

Today we're launching a brand new essay, Maya Angelou and the Art of Winging It. You would be doing the book a HUGE FAVOUR if you not only read the essay, but clicked one of those share buttons along the way! I'm hoping that 50 out of the nearly 500 of you who have supported the book will seize the mouse and do so. Let's create a great click essay wave spreading the wise words of the extraordinary Maya Angelou!

Thanks so much. Onwards.

Roman
