A good Memorial Day to all!

With prelims finally behind me as of last week, I've managed to pull free of PhD work (for a few weeks, at least :) ), and bring you a couple long-delayed updates!

First up: My Alternate History novella Obsidian & Steel will be sent in shortly as my submission to this year's Indie Author Project, a regional contest for self-published writers (I submitted Red Delta to the Wisconsin version of this contest last year, and will do the same with O&S again; not completely sure if they're part of the same organization, so that should cover all bases :) ). All submitted stories earn a spot on public library shelves regardless of the ultimte contest winner, so this is a fantastic promotion route; any and all aspiring writers, check out the links at the bottom to find out more!

Second: After a long stretch of occasional tweaks and prolonged outlining, I will finally be diving back into new writing work with the (LAST) round of gap-filling and edits on Book 1 (Awakenings) of my Cross & Flag series, which should see this work through to beta-ready status by or even well before the end of summer--and give me the boost needed to push more or all of the rest of the series over the finish line by that time as well!

More details to follow on both of these, and my AH novel Bloody Relations as it weaves through publication at Sea Lion Press! Keep watching here, and on my FB and Twitter feeds, and feel free to share, comment and review, like always!
