Hello, everyone!
It's been an absolutely incredible two weeks. I've been totally blown away by the support for Be Guid tae yer Mammy from all over the world, and it's been great to see it get off to a flying start after such a long journey.
There are still a few people who haven't confirmed their addresses who supported the original campaign. Please ensure that you've confirmed your address to ensure that you get a physical copy of the book if you chose that tier. If you're confused in any way, please email support@unbound.com and they will be able to help you out!
There's also been a slight issue with supporter copies in Europe because of Brexit.
Since Brexit, some new customs charges are being applied to exports from the UK to Europe, payable by the recipient. Unbound doesn't want subscribers to be surprised by the extra costs, or to assume they are happy to pay them, so if you haven't received your copy yet, please email support@unbound.com and it can be resolved case by case.
In other news, I worked with the Scots Language Centre during lockdown on a new project to increase adult Scots literacy. It's being launched tonight on YouTube and will feature new creative work from myself and a number of other Scots writers, so do feel free to come along!

But if you're busy, all of the work will be available to download absolutely free from www.scotslanguage.com/socts-warks afterward as well as a new style guide that's a great resource if you've ever fancied writing in Scots yourself!
The creative work available will include an extract from my Scots novella, The Tongue She Speaks, which stars the protagonist of my second Scots novel, Cathy, get yer Dancin Shoes Oan - both of which will hopefully see the light of day in their entirety in the not-too-distant future!
And finally, here is Mammy against the Toronto skyline!
Best wishes,
Emma
