Dolly Considine’s Hotel was typeset and sent to me in March, and I’ve read it aloud from cover to cover and checked for any final revisions, extra words, missed punctuation, got rid of any unnecessary “evens” and “reallys” and my new pet hate, using similar sounding words in consecutive sentences. Not to mention finding I’d misspelled the name of one of Ireland’s national hero’s!!!! I returned the files to Unbound this week so it could go to the printers before the end of April.
Which will bring us awfully close to the high point in this part of our journey together. Unbound have announced a target launch date of 8th July. That’s less than three months away. It is very exciting for me, and I hope it is a little for you also, not least because shortly after that you will receive your copy.
In some circles Cover Reveal parties are as significant as gender reveal parties. And while I am not that excitable, I hope you are sharing what excitement there is – please understand there will be no dangerous stunts, just a simple drawing back of the curtain to reveal the cover to the book that will be on the shelves in July. I am a little excited, maybe more, maybe a lot more. Tuesday is just a few days away, and that’s when all will be revealed.
The other good news is the launch of my website, and I have issued my first monthly newsletter, which for the rest of 2021, will include a free short story. The April story is called Mr Laurel Esq at the Salthill Hotel, and if you’d like to read it, just sign up. Incidentally I promise I don’t have a thing about hotels. https://www.eamonsomers.com/
Look out for an update on Tuesday telling you how you can see the cover. And don’t forget that anyone who pre-orders Dolly now will be listed and thanked in the book. But time is running out, as the list will have to close before Dolly goes to the printers.
Roll on Tuesday…
