Dear supporters
I want to give you all a long-overdue update on what is happening with my book Ladders to Heaven.
Thanks to all of you, the book is now 67% funded. It is downhill from here to the finish line. I just need to convince another 154 people to join you as supporters. If you know someone who you think will enjoy reading it, please share the project with them too as this can help to speed up the funding process.
As for the book, I'm now in deep editing mode. I'm taking apart the book I wrote and rebuilding it into its final form.
I've made some major changes, moving large chunks of words from one chapter to another, deleting whole sections and researching and writing brand new material. It's a bit like panel beating. I bang hard at one section of the text and this makes new bumps appear elsewhere for me to fix.
I'm now tackling each chapter line by line, checking facts and cutting fat, then polishing the words so the sentences shine. As I edit, I am cutting out some things I really love but which get in the way of the stories I am telling. Rather than consign these gems to the bin, I will include them in a section of notes at the end of the book. I don't want you to miss out on that material.
I’m also working on the illustrations and will share some images here soon.
Thanks again for all of your support. I want to make a book that will fill you with wonder.
