Thanks to you all for your support and helping us to spread Sir Gawain's epic story to a new audience. We're now at an incredible 117%. But Sir Gawain and our journey isn't over yet.
I've discussed the campaign with Unbound and we've decided to not only upload some exciting new pledge levels (check out the new giclee "dedicated print" options featuring some of my linocuts of castles and ancient stones) but to reward you all for your support with a little gift:
FREE GIFT
If the campaign reaches 130%, we'll send every subscriber a digital 'mini dictionary' of 25 Middle-English phrases used in the poem. It will contain 25 of my favourite phrases from the poem (and I’ll show you where they appear in the poem so you can see how they compare with my translation). And because it can sit on your phone or your computer, you can practise speaking the ancient West Midlands dialect in the comfort of your own home!
AND WIN AN UPGRADE!
PLUS at the same time during this period, every person who pledges at - or upgrades to - the £25 Collectable level (or above) is in for a chance for an upgrade to the Middle English pledge level worth £60.This pledge level includes the collectable LIMITED first edition, signed and PERSONALLY DEDICATED by me plus your favourite line in the poem written by me in both Middle English and modern English.
Every ten pledges received opens up the chance for one lucky person (drawn at random from the 10) to be upgraded. We're currently at 321 pledges so once we reach 331 the first upgraded person will be chosen at random! Unbound will keep doing this until we reach the magic 130% so please spread the message!
Examples of how this works:
- If you have already pledged at the £20 Hardback level and upgrade to the £25 Collecitble level, you could be selected at random
- If someone newly pledges for the £25 Collectible level (or higher) they could be selected at random
- If someone newly pledges for - or upgrades to, for example, the dedicated print pledge level (£125), they could be selected at random and, when they receive their book on publication it will not only be dedicated to them but will also include the line of Middle English and its translation written in it by me in the front.
If this sounds like something you'd enjoy then please share Sir Gawain and the Green Knight with your friends, family, enemies and bards alike and encourage them to pledge. Let's hit 130% and unlock the wonderful language of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.
Once again - thank you everyone for your support in making this new edition of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight become reality!
