Happy Birthday 'Be guid tae yer Mammy' - Farewell Unbound and onto the next chapter!

Hello everyone!

I figured that today is as good a day as any to make my last forever grateful Unbound update. Be guid tae yer Mammy is a year old, and what a year it's been! Life imitated art for me, and I ended up working with old film reels for eight months before telling women's stories full-time as a journalist. Funny that?

Be guid tae yer Mammy was a sell-out thanks to everyone who believed in me, and you've not heard the last of Granny... Watch this space.

I signed my second book deal in April, and there was no need to crowndfund it this time! A totally traditional deal. I cried at the London Book Fair when Luath Press said that they wanted to publish The Tongue She Speaks. It was a real day to remember, just like Jeannie and Lizzie's big audition.

Thank you all again for your support. I'm tearing up as I write this (happy tears). This past year taught me that Be guid tae yer Mammy was just the beginning, not a one-off as I feared. I worried so much about the book - too much - but it was because I cared, and I'm glad I cared as I think it's reflected in the story itself.

So, without further ado, here is the cover of my second novel, The Tongue She Speaks. An ode to the Scots language, emo culture and punk rock. A story about finding your voice in the face of demons. Out on October 13!

There will be a launch in at a Waterstones branch in London, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

If you're feeling kind, it is available to pre-order on Waterstones, but your support here has already been more than enough.
