Firstly can I express how grateful I am to you all for backing my book. It is thrilling to have got a quarter of the way there already, and quite clearly that would not have happened without all of your aupport. You are all wonderful - thank you.
Today I will be doing a bit of work on my second book, which is called Wetlands. The central focus is a man in prison who, in losing connection to the freedom of land, turns his focus inward, treating his own body as a kind of landscape, a place for imagined interior roaming. There is also a girl who will go on a long walk across a future empty Britain, when the much reduced population all live in huge cities. Edge of town light industrial parks grown over with bramble and ivy, wolves loping along empty motorways. I am enjoying writing it.
Though I have to admit, being so excited about Unbound backing my book and the ensuing brain-fizz as I try to think up ways to fund beyond my immediate circle has meant I am being, shall we say, sporadic - hell, let's be honest, useless, at really getting into other projects!
If any of you feel able to share a link to my page (this one: https://unbound.com/books/twice-the-speed-of-dark ) on any of your social media sites, that would be really wonderful, and might help me to start reaching outside of my immediate circle.
Once again, thank you for the immeasuraboy valuable support. I look forward to hearing what you think of Twice the Speed of Dark when you have a chance to read it.
xx Lulu
