Things are beginning to happen apace, here at Lido Guide HQ.
Janet and I have been busy beavering away providing feedback to Unbound on the first of the layouts for the book. It's an amazing feeling to hold something in your hands that actually looks like it's going to be a real book. And it's not often we get given carte blanche to make liberal use of a red pen, so naturally we seized that opportunity.
Now that we're close to signing the book off and getting it away to the printers we need to set a deadline for supporters to get their name in the back of the book. If you're getting this update delivered direct to your inbox then that honour is secure for you, but if you're reading this online and would like to preorder the book AND be commemorated as one of the patrons who helped make it happen you've got until midnight on the 11th November 2018. You'll still be able to pre-order the book after that date, but you won't get your name in print.
We'll also be closing the Swim Cap pre-order level on the 11th November. And as it happens the caps were delivered this morning, and they look fabulous. We'll never make caps in these colours again, they'll be exclusive to patrons of the book. So if you want one, you've got a few weeks to either pre-order at the Swim Cap level, or upgrade your existing pledge. The caps are made from silicone, so they'll be ideal for keeping heads during all weather outdoor swimming.
Our lovely logo was designed by Nancy Farmer, an enviably talented artist, cold-water swimmer and an earely supporter of this book. She designs an impressive range of swim caps and other swimming related loveliness... so if you fancy starting your Christmas shopping a little early have a gander at her etsy shop.
