Well, it's a month since our book was published and we thought we'd post an update on how it's been going.
We were honoured that Today South London, Tomorrow South London was listed in the Evening Standard's Best Comedy Books of 2018 (see below), as well as being featured in Londonist, Lewisham Ledger (also pictured below), South London Press, Southwark News and, Half-life's favourite, London Drinker.
Over on Amazon, we've had some positive reviews. The publisher liked Skirky's comment so much they want to put it on the cover:
"Essentially, Fear and Loathing meets The Good Beer Guide." - Skirky
The book is already, incredibly, on its third print run. If you enjoyed it, do please leave your own review and spread the word. It helps a lot and we'd be very grateful. Dirty South said he'll buy you a pint.
We've also done a World Tour of readings, including Brixton BookJam, Catford's Blythe Hill Tavern, The Pelton Arms in Greenwich and Bookseller Crow in Crystal Palace, where one lucky punter was able to get his book inscribed:
The only real blip has been the enforced withdrawal of our Christmas TV advert due to a ruling that it "normalises harmful activity" and "promotes indolence". What a sad indictment of today's "nanny state". We stand with Iceland and Greenpeace on this matter and have started to begin thinking about writing a stern letter to someone or other.
You can watch the ad in full here, though please be aware that if you do, we may have to go to prison. Your choice.
If you've yet to buy a copy of the book, you can support your local bookshop by buying or ordering through them, or you can use these direct links to buy online at Waterstones or Amazon.
And if you've already got a copy, why not buy a friend one for Christmas? We all know someone who needs to buck their ideas up, right?
Merry Christmas and thank you for supporting TSLTSL!
Andy & Vince
UPDATE: The book has now gone Top Ten Bestseller in Amazon UK Travel. Thank you all!
