Dear Supporters,
By now you should have received your downloads of the Ghost Variations e-book and I might dare to hope that some of you have taken a peek at it.
For any writer, this is the scariest possible moment. The book is finished, you can't do anything else to change it, and now the readers are going to make up their minds whether - after all that sweat and tears and insomnia and chocolate that's gone into your "creative process" for the last five years - they actually like what they read.
I very, very much hope that you will, and that you do, and that you have thus far.
As you know, having already chipped in to help make this book happen via Unbound, much of today's book-buying and reading takes place online and is absolutely reader-driven. That good old-fashioned "word of mouth" that used to be what ensured a book's success has not exactly vanished, but it also has a new guise: the reader review on Amazon, Goodreads, et al.
If you have read and enjoyed Ghost Variations, please may I ask you to be so kind as to pop over to Amazon and write a brief reader review saying so? A nice big handful of stars on the rating wouldn't go amiss, either... I shall then be forever in your debt, but very happily so! We have one week until the book goes on general release - you've been having an exclusive period in which to read it first - and it would be wonderful to generate some signs of support on Amazon while pre-ordering is up and running (all of which can help to push up the ratings). And if Amazon doesn't want to accept reviews pre the official release date, please keep trying on and after 20 September!
Here's the Amazon link - and then it's over to you! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ghost-Variations-Strangest-Detective-Story-ebook/dp/B01LW6HZV6/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1473842365&sr=1-1&keywords=jessica+duchen
THANK YOU SO MUCH.
With much love from a deeply grateful writer,
