A note of thanks

This is just a note to say a huge thank you to everyone who came on board with the campaign of support for The Unwinding. Because of you all the book was published. It came out during the pandemic, when many books were being pulled from publication, delayed, and through amazing indie bookshops it found an audience.

I am currently supposed to be writing an article about making the book, the how and the why, before the book is published in USA and Canada within the next few weeks. It has reminded me of how important the support of subscribers is, long before the book has taken shape and form, long before there is a publication date, having the faith to invest in a dream.

There is also a German edition due soon, possibly published. None of this would have been possible without your having faith in what the book might be.

I'm still away from home, at my mum's. Home next week. Working around nurse taking blood, stair lift, things arriving..... it's never easy.

I hope all rewards have gone out now, and all the books have found their way to you.

I've two new projects with Unbound. One is Feather, Leaf, Bark & Stone. This has full funding and is going into exciting design and production phases. Hoping to be able to share something from the printers soon. Also, don't tell anyone, but I just bought another typewriter that writes in cursive script.

The other project is still funding and is a curiosity that has grown out of working with Spellsongs, painting foxes. The film for this one is made by Seven Fables, and is beautiful. This project, like all I do, is shifting and changing, but the artwork for first two is done. The next two will be different, but funding for those needs to wait until these two books are published. Here's the link for The Accordion Book page. There are about to be new rewards added, so do take a look. Small blue foxes.

Anyway, this posting is really a simple thank you to all who supported the book. I have seen amazing things that have been done with The Silent Unwinding, and many have been in touch to say The Unwinding has been a harbour for them. John ( Captain Unbound) and I are hoping to make some Unfoldings soon, a cross-over creature, part Unwinding, part Accordion Book. In the meantime I will be at Cheltenham Festival talking about East of the Sun, West of the Moon and The Wild Swans on 10th October. I think there are tickets still available. I think I will be painting a small Accordion book while I talk with John, but maybe it will be the White Hare from Wild Swans. It will be our second real event together. The first is at Laugharne Festival on Sunday 3rd Oct at 11 am. And you can get the two books here, at Unbound, or from your local bookshop soon. Like everything else in the UK they are being held up by all the shortages, and idiocy from the Brexit fallout.

Many thanks, for being wonderful, empowering, patient, inspiring x If you've time, tell me tales of your Unwinding.
