100% - 'Be guid tae yer mammy' is officially happening!

Hello, lovely pledgers!

Be guid tae yer mammy has finally reached its preorder target and will be a lovely traditionally published novel in bookstores in the not too distant future.

I'll let you know as soon as I have a publication date, but because it's going into the trade, this is going to be a slow process and it will likely not be until late next year / early 2021. However, because you helped make it happen, you will be receiving your books before it's on general release.

Right now, I'm storming through the final few chapter edits and then I will be handing the manuscript over to Unbound - at which point, they will assign me an editor to get the story into as good a shape as possible.

This is something that I've been working towards my entire life, so it all feels very surreal, but I'm so excited to share the book's progress with you as it goes through each stage of the publication process.

And as a thank you for your continued support, each update from now on is going to contain some writing to whet your appetite for what's to come.

Be guid tae yer mammy is written in voices, and I got the idea to do this from a book called House Mother Normal, which is entirely set in a nursing home. It really resonated with me because I'd had the experience of working in one. Then, about five years ago, I emulated those voices for an assignment at university, not knowing that I would ultimately use the same technique in my debut novel. Have a read below:
