Ben Steadman drummed in numerous bands including Chelsea, Atom Seed offshoot Chaosphere and Big Life Casino, with Ace from Skunk Anansie. He became a promoter booking at Fulham’s King’s Head before starting his own Splash Club venue at the Water Rats in King’s Cross which ran for an intense 5 years becoming a mecca for bands and the music industry. Following its success Ben went on to manage Transglobal Underground production team Temple of Sound (Jah Wobble, Peter Gabriel, Rizwan Qwalli, Natacha Atlas) and then work for Placebo in South East Asia before setting up his own export company and commercial brand agency specialising in developing brands in South East Asia.
Following its success Ben went on to launch Sitarfunk club nights with the band Earthtribe and partner Dara Khera.
Ben manages Transglobal Underground’s Temple of Sound band and production house, producing the albums First Edition, Jah Wobble, Temple of Sound’s Shout at The Devil and People’s Colony Number 1 with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s nephews Rizwan and Muazzam for Peter Gabriel and Real World and electronic artist producer Frank Musik.
He promoted legendary London club nights Kill All Hippies, The Remix with Eddy Temple Morris, Hum and The Insomniacs Ball with Adrian Leigh. He became a management consultant for Youth Music Arts Council England and then for Placebo in Asia, setting up live concerts including the first Bangkok Rock Festival with Riverman’s Dave Maclean featuring Oasis, Placebo, Deus, Franz Ferdinand and Placebo at Angkor Wat temple.
