Seven Days in Tokyo

It’s autumn in Manhattan. In a chance encounter that feels like destiny, Louie meets Landon, a visiting Englishman who lives in Tokyo. Drawn towards each other, they spend the night together.

Five months later, Louie can’t banish this younger man from his thoughts and so they reconnect in Japan. For several days in the surreptitious neighbourhood of Shimokitazawa, their love-affair plays out against the backdrop of a misty Tokyo Spring, through narrow side-streets and alleyways, in coffee shops, and unmade beds. But when their week-long rendezvous comes to a close, Louie realises that some things, however beautiful and profound, are fated to be as short-lived as the famed cherry-blossoms.

Poignant and lyrical, Seven Days in Tokyo is a complex portrait of one man’s search for connection, the rootless nature of modern life and the intricacies of desire. Most of all, though, Seven Days in Tokyo is a love story, with all the attendant joy, tenderness, and heartbreak.
